PALS - Pupils Already Left School

Next Reunion - Thursday 20th May 2010

School reunion 21^st May 2008-07

A reunion was held in Phoenix School on the 21^st May 2008 it was great to see so many ex pupils attending. We looked at some school photo albums and also run a power point photograph presentation showing some of the many school journeys/trips that some of the pupils that were present had been on. The pupils were then taken on a school tour to see the changes that had been made in Phoenix since they had left they seemed very impressed by the changes and many of them commented that they wish that they were back in Phoenix! We then talked about having another trip to the seaside, which seemed very popular and we decided that it would be nice to go to Hastings on the 5^th July. The evening ended at 7pm with the pupils very excited about the forthcoming trip.

P.A.L.S Trip to Hastings 5-07-08

 We met at Phoenix at 930am with the weather looking quite dark and overcast but our spirits were high! When all of the ex pupils had arrived (16 in total) we packed our picnic lunch, footballs and rounders bats onto the minibuses to start our journey to Hastings. The drive was very pleasant taking a little over 2 hours, and as we approached Hastings the sun appeared and it was the start of a lovely sunny day. We made our way straight to the beach where we prepared our picnic lunch and with many of the pupils deciding to take a dip in the sea and others playing a game of football. After we had all eaten the pupils had some free time to do what they wanted with many of them going to look around the local shops and others going onto the rides and attractions. Staff took the opportunity to meet up with Jean Mockford who lives in Hastings and were given a brief tour of the area. It was nice to see Jean again and to hear all her news. All to soon they day was over and we returned to the minibuses for the journey home. A good day was had by all. Special thanks to Mr Harris, Mr Gering, Mr Stride and Pam Benham for giving up their Saturday.
